Welcome to Let’s Be Real, Episode 57! Today I chat with Kirsten Madsen, a field manager with StoryCorps, and its newest initiative called One Small Step. One Small Step was created to bring together two strangers with differing beliefs to create meaningful connections in our divided culture.

I connected with Kristen after my own incredibly meaningful experience participating in One Small Step (and share clips from the convo!), and love the redemptive thread woven throughout these conversations of connection. Kirsten shares her background working at the 9/11 Memorial where she listened to thousands of hours of stories, how she ended up at StoryCorps, and why it’s so important to connect with other people’s stories on a human level.

You’ll be so encouraged, and I hope you might even want to take One Small Step, too.
