Today we finish what we started last week; an exercise called Life Mapping. (If you missed it, you’ll definitely want to go back and listen to Part 1 first!) This week, I’ll walk you through an exercise that’s been life-changing for me and for the folks that I’ve led through it in the past. It’ll help you to backtrack to understand where you’ve been and illuminate where you’re going.
As you do the work of this Life Mapping exercise, you’ll begin to see the places where you started believing lies about yourself that you’ve operated out of for years. But it will also show you the moments of bliss and calling along the way, left there as signposts of who God has made you to be.
So grab your chronological sticky-note covered posterboards, and let’s go! (and if you have no idea what I’m talking about…seriously…listen to Part 1 first!)
Four questions to ask yourself after you complete the exercise I walk you through:
- What do you need to face?
- Who do you need to forgive?
- What do you need to release?
- What do you need to claim as true?
The journey really begins when we come to a place of recognition that we have stories full of both purpose and pain, and there is hope for a different way. What are we going to do with this one life we’ve been given?
